Business Development Manager

Cordless is an early-stage startup with a mission to unlock voice content for customer support teams. We believe no one should be waiting on hold listening to terrible elevator music. We build tools for companies to bring together voice and text to create magical experiences for customers on a smartphone.

We are backed by Passion Capital, Entrepreneur First, Fly VC and angel investors from GoCardless, Monzo, Nested, Songkick, Onfido, FreeAgent & Assembled. We've just raised a Seed round and have a couple of paying customers.

We are currently a team of 12 and growing!

The founders - Luba Chudnovets and Irina Bednova - met building Monzo bank, where we scaled an award-winning operations team to support over 3 million customers.

About this role
You will be the first Business development manager working directly with the founders.

As part of this role, you will:
  • Work on all aspects of the sales process from cold prospecting to negotiating and closing deals with customers
  • Take charge of the top-of-funnel prospecting, outreach and qualification phase of the sales process
  • Manage our sales pipeline, develop proposals and build relationships with customers to help them achieve their goals with Cordless
  • Build and maintain our sales pipeline in a structured and detail-orientated way based on our tracking and performance metrics
  • Closely collaborate with marketing to build the right messaging for our ideal customer profile
  • Work with the product team to shape our product direction based on what you learn from customer conversations and make sure we're always working on the highest priority thing to help our customers
  • As the first commercial hire you will have a chance to help us grow the team at Cordless and grow into a leadership position
Who we’re looking for
  • You have outbound sales experience (3+ years)
  • You have experience managing a sales pipeline and executing sales plans for a B2B SaaS company
  • You can work independently and are excited to work on all aspects of the sales process
  • Preferably you have experience working in a startup
